Everything about Biota totally explained

Biota! is a planned aquarium in the Silvertown Quays redevelopment project adjacent to the Royal Victoria Dock. Forming the main feature of this, £1.5 billion development, the building, designed by Terry Farrell & Partners, will cost £60 million.

It will be operated by the Zoological Society of London and will be the world's first aquarium entirely based on the principles of conservation. The planned opening date was 2008 at one time, but it has now slipped to not earlier than 2011.
The aquarium is based around four biomes, each representing an entire ecosystem including trees, other plants, invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds as well as fish.
